Alex Anderson joined Bolton St. John’s in December 2022 and advises and supports clients on legislative, policy, and budgetary matters in New York City and Albany.
Prior to joining Bolton St. John’s, Alex served as Chief of Staff to Council Member Marjorie Velázquez in the Bronx, where he steered the Council Member’s legislative and budgetary agenda. He oversaw legislative issues primarily related to consumer and worker protection issues and helped deliver budget wins related to health care, youth services, cultural institutions, and more.
Previously, Alex served as Deputy Chief of Staff to former Council Member Karen Koslowitz in Queens. In this role, he directed the City Council’s Queens Delegation capital and expense budget initiatives. He also assisted in successfully securing millions of dollars in a community benefits agreement, as well as liaising with city agencies to bring essential municipal services to New Yorkers.
Alex graduated from Queens College with a degree in Political Science. He continues his education as he pursues a graduate degree in Urban Affairs at Queens College.
